Air Wand (or 'AirWand') is a special form of technology that exists in the Aeon of the Champion story series. For over 40 years, it was developed by MagiTek engineers working at the Witchwood plant. The technology allows wizards to interact with graphical user interfaces (such as those found on WizSuite products) free-handed, without the use of a Wand device (similar to a real-world 'stylus' pen), so they can 'drag and drop' items across the screen from a distance. Numerous noble houses were involved in the funding of the project, though House Spellthorne typically takes the most credit for its proliferation.
The technology was rapidly adopted by Grevalon, and, after 40 years, was considered in 'stable' release. The Magecrown Academy is an exceptional user of this technology, with the Spellthorne Repository System (the library system at the school) using Air Wand to control which titles are available for student reading. Alchemists at the Laboratories division of the Aeht Dom also use it to simulate the effect of chemical reactions in a sandboxed environment before testing them in real life, ensuring that the reaction is safe to carry out. This reduced accidents by a reported 46% (the actual figure is closer to 15%).
