A similar invention was attempted by Handy in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series about a few years before Empath's final return from Psychelia, only for it to become the smurf cream maker when Greedy dumped a bowl of smurfberries and cream into the machine by accident. Possibly the invention was perfected with the creation of the smurfomatic ice maker and the cold pantry.
