The Amazons are a race of female warriors that are part of Greek mythology. They tend to live in isolation from other societies and are considered misandric in their dealings with other humans. In DC Comics' Wonder Woman series, the Amazons journeyed to the island of Themyscira (also called Paradise Island) where they would remain forever young in their isolation from mankind. It is also where Wonder Woman herself was born, being the daughter of the queen Hippolyta. The Amazons were also encountered by Hercules and Xena in their respective TV series by Renaissance Pictures.
Empath: The Luckiest Smurf stories[]
The Smurfs have met the Amazons during their time-traveling adventures in The Lost Year in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series. Needless to say, the male Smurfs were not entirely pleased with how most of the Amazons treated them during their brief visit.
