"Oh, how I love the Smurfette! Let me count the ways...!"

Valentine Amorica "Amore" Smurf is a Smurf character who is part of the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series.

History[]

Amore was originally Valentine Smurf, born the brother of Barber Smurf, both of whom are excellent singers from the Puffo clan. Of the Smurfs who were affected by the "Smurfette dream" when Smurfette first became a real Smurf, Amore found himself so attracted to Smurfette that he kept serenading her with his accordion, much to her eventual annoyance.

Personality[]

He is a Smurf who generally cares about his fellow Smurfs, but is so infatuated with Smurfette that he would do anything to win her heart, despite the fact that she hasn't paid any attention to him since she first met Empath. Jokey sometimes likes to play pranks on Amore's hopeless infatuation with Smurfette such as having a bunch of flowers that Amore does "she loves me, she loves me not" with all come out ending with "she loves me not", and he even disguised himself as Smurfette at one time, which earned him nothing but a black eye. Despite his hopeless situation, Amore treats Smurfette like a lady and doesn't do anything particularly aggressive to make her love him in any way.

Role[]

Amore mostly serves as a gag character, with his constant infatuation with Smurfette being emphasized in the stories he appears in. He is a descendant of the Puffo clan and tends to sing serenades to Smurfette in that particular language with his favorite instrument, the accordion. Because of his accordion playing skills, he often works with Smithy at his forgery pumping the bellows in order to stoke the flames of his forge.

Clothing[]

Amore wears a standard white Smurf hat and pants.

Notes[]

Voice Actor[]

He would be voiced by Charles Martinet, who does the voice of Mario and other related characters in the Super Mario series of videogames.
