Ao Shun (referred to as Ao Ming by the Qilan) is a character exlcusive to the Aeon of the Champion story series. He is the black Dragon King of Maztica, embodying geokinesis/earth magic, and represents Lake Baikal. Like his contemporaries, he fought against Ao Qin during the Dragon War, and was considered by the red dragon to be his fiercest opponent. Despite his bitter hatred for the red dragon, both Ao Qin and Ao Shun were responsible for the terrible damage Maztica incurred during the War of the Dragon, as Ao Qin's fire magic destroyed vegetation while Ao Shun's relentless terraforming of natural landscapes left once-fertile regions nothing more than mountainous deserts. His attacks against Ao Run were also justified by the claim that the white dragon was merely an accomplice of Ao Qin - a claim bolstered by the appearance of a white dragon spirit at the sight of the destroyed Baikal Temple (this, unbeknowst to Ao Shun, was actually Ao Qin in disguise). The alliance between the two was broken off after-the-fact, and they remained at war until they were imprisoned by the Earthen.
Now that Maztica has once again been threatened, this time by the Qilan Emperor Forshad's return - and by extension, the return of Ao Qin - Ao Shun is determined to escape from his prison in order to destroy the fire dragon once and for all.
