An apron is a garment usually worn on the front, either protecting the torso or the waist and upper legs, depending on the type of profession it is being used for.

In the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series, Greedy, Gelato, and Vino are commonly seen wearing aprons in the kitchen. Biscotti also at one time wore an apron as a kitchen worker before he switched to wearing a tank top. Cobbler, Tanner, Smithy, and Printer also wear aprons for their lines of work. Empath wore an apron during his brief time filling in for Greedy in the story "Chez Empath".
Among humans, Gargamel's cousin Barbapapa wears an apron during his role as a candy vendor at the beach that the Smurfs visit.

Within The Smurfs: Light and Dark]], various characters have been known to wear an apron. In Story One while in disguise as one a Royal Chef, Gargamel wore a white apron.
In the Smurf Village, Reporter wears a black apron only when working on his printing press to avoid having ink stains on his white trousers.
