Cherry’s Assorted Fruits is a fan made alternate universe for the Smurfs Franchise created by CherryRollArts. This universe is made up of different versions of The Smurfs canon stories, the two most notably are the 2017 CGI movie Smurfs: The Lost Village and the original 1981 television series, The Smurfs. The universe includes only the smurf characters from the 2013 film, Smurfs 2. This universe was created to establish a functional biological and cohesive history for the Smurfs. This includes their creation, biology, society, and all other details of their way of life. This is entirely for fun and is for the creators personal enjoyment.
Series Overview[]
Cherry’s Assorted Fruits is a series that aims to make Smurfs a much more cohesive and easily understood franchise, introducing a stable and thought out canon, and erasing any confusions or derailments from the main story by filling in gaps and answering much pondered questions about the Smurfs species. This story introduces new smurf characters and relationships as well as more modern concepts and tools to help the plot more than for any other reason. The main story consists of an ongoing plot of Sweetheart Smurf learning to deal with his growing affection towards Vanity Smurf. Johan and Peewit are also included as well.
Stories and Ongoing Plots[]
The main plot of Cherry's Assorted Fruits follows Sweetheart Smurf, a smurf with nothing in his head but love, and his new love interest, Vanity Smurf. As the story develops we see Sweetheart trying a million different ways to court the love of his life and dealing with rejection, self love/worth and acceptance. Vanity Smurf is a bit oblivious to Sweetheart's attempts at love as he's focused more on himself. However in his arc we can watch as he learns about sympathy, selflessness and being vulnerable.
Side plots include Brainy Smurf and Clumsy Smurf both trying to confess their love to each other, the catch being everyone knows their in love with each other except them! Another focusing on Melody Smurf and his rivalry with Harmony all while being adored from a distance by a shy baker. And lastly the ongoing struggle the Smurfy Grove smurfs face with opposing forces in the Forbidden Forest.
Smaller more one off or occasional filler stories include Macho Smurf and his adventures with the famed story book hero Don Smurfo, Team Smurf learning about the Forbidden Forest with their new friend SmurfBlood and her obsession with Brainy. As well as the few Johan and Peewit stories with the introduction of Witch Hildegard

Smurf Village Smurfs[]
Smurfs are “born” very much like how a mushroom is grown. Under the light of a Blue Moon, a rare magical Indigo Milk Cap Mushroom glows and disperses only one spore, this spore lands onto the ground and grows into a baby smurf in a matter of minutes. As soon as the baby is made, a stork is sent to collect it and deliver it to the village.
Gifts are what a smurf is blessed with once they are made. Gifts are the special abilities and talents every smurf has. No two smurfs have the same talents and although some overlap in terms of abilities, the overall name is different and they are given different jobs inside the village. A smurf’s Gift grants them a special attribute that can be classified as magical. These come in a variety of special abilities. Some examples are;
- Clumsy: resistance to and high tolerance for pain.
- Lazy: ability to relax any and all muscles and enter a dream like state even when awake.
- Hefty: super strength, far beyond regular capabilities for male and female smurfs.
These Gifts are given as soon as a smurf has been “born”, the power of the moon grants them the ability to unlock it. As a smurf ages their talent becomes increasingly clearer and they are given their name.
Smurfy Grove Smurfs[]
Gifts have a different context in the Smurfy Grove village however, as their abilities and talents are all identical to one another. All female smurfs are blessed with the ability of pain resistance and sturdiness. The world around them basically acts as their Gift. Female smurfs are given much more freedom and flexibility when it comes to talents and interests.
Smurfy Grove smurfs all come from a mushroom much like Smurf Village Smurfs do, the magic mushroom in the Forbidden Forest stands at 6 feet tall, a rotating pastel rainbow color over the cap, white spots and a white base with a pool of glowing blue water leading from the base to the back of the Smurfy Grove village. When smurfs are born, their spores are released into the water where they grow and are blessed with their ability, the baby then flows into the village and is accepted.
Exceptions[]
Exceptions are smurfs made in artificial ways or with non traditional methods. A notable example of this is of course Smurfette who was created by Gargamel. Due to her base being clay, she has a few differences compared to the average Smurf Village smurf. She is taller than the average smurf, and has the ability to control and absorb magic. Sassette having clay as her base as well, ended up with her being much smaller than the average smurfling, but still retains the ability to control and absorb magic. Same applies to Hackus and Vexy including the taller than average characteristic. Clay being their base also makes them appear and feel more oily and soft.
Gender[]
Smurfs are fungus based creatures and have no reproductive hormones or organs. Smurfs can use a variety of pronouns as those are the leading factors in determining a smurfs gender. Smurf Village smurfs primarily use he/they, choosing to be described as male, while Smurfy Grove smurfs use she/they and are decidedly female. These are their social norms but smurfs can go by any pronoun they choose. All smurfs are born completely sexless with very few things distinguishing male and female although there are some notable differences.
- Female smurfs are bigger than the males.
- Male smurfs have traditionally deeper voices and females have more higher pitched tones, although this is more of a generalization than a hard rule.
- Female smurfs are capable of gaining muscle mass much quicker and easier than males.
- Female smurfs have the ability to grow hair quickly and easily while male smurfs have a harder time with this. Hair in general comes in a variety of textures from 1A to 4C texture. This feature is random among smurfs.
Smurf’s Mental, Physical, Personality and Neurological Disorders[]
Smurfs, much like humans, go through life as any other person, facing hardships and overcoming them for development of their character. However, smurfs are not immune to the mental impact these battles cause. Smurfs are still able to develop mental disorders such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and many more. These are treated in society with many different tactics such as physical and verbal therapy, medications and more.
Not only do some have mental disorders, but a few have neurological disorders as well. These include Autism, ASD, Attention Deficit (Hyperactive) Disorder, and more. These are treated with multiple different things. Accommodations are met from smurfs with auditory and visual triggers, stim toys are made for those who like to fidget or chew, and other details for those with physical disabilities as well such as wheelchair access, differently crafted clothes and dishes, glasses, etc.
Some Smurfs with disorders like these are Pushover Smurf (GAD), Clumsy Smurf (Autism), Smurfette (Autism), SmurfBlossom (ADHD and Autism), and Sassette (ADHD).
