Dame Barbara of Audric is a character who is part of the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series, mostly appearing in flashbacks of events that took place before Empath's final return from Psychelia.
Personality[]
She is a strict disciplinarian who seems very cold and aloof, not wishing to partake in anything that she sees as frivolous, such as dancing. She watches over Princess Savina to make sure that she behaves like a proper princess, educating her only in the skills that she deems are necessary for Savina to learn, disapproving of her involvement with her friends' activities that are "beneath her station". While she is very tolerant of Johan, she is much less so with his friend Peewit, who she sees as a mischievous scamp. Being a devout Catholic, Dame Barbara prays for the well-being of King Audric and the members of his court, and reads the Holy Bible transcribed in Latin.
Although she is aware that Johan, Peewit, King Audric, and Princess Savina claimed to have met the Smurfs on various occasions, Dame Barbara herself has never actually seen a Smurf and prefers to believe that they are just figments of people's imaginations.
Role[]
She is the bossy governess who serves King Audric, who only wants what's best for his niece Princess Savina. She was one of Peewit's first dancing victims when he got his hands on the magic flute.
