Elijah is a Smurf character who appears in an Imaginarium fantasy setting called Tribulation in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series.
Background Information[]
He along with his partner Enoch refer to themselves as "the Two Witnesses of God", who mysteriously appear at the same time that Declan Xavier Smurf, the Antichrist of the fantasy setting, signs a seven-year peace treaty between Israel and the surrounding nations. Elijah and Enoch declare this treaty to be the "covenant with hell" and also announce that with the signing of the treaty, the "last terrible week of the Lord" has begun, which Tapper Smurf refers to as the Tribulation. Elijah and Enoch prophesy for 1260 days in Israel, after which they are killed by Declan Xavier with their bodies left in the streets unburied for 3 1/2 days until they are resurrected and brought up into heaven in a cloud.
Appearance[]
Like his partner Enoch, Elijah wears a Smurf hat, sandals, and a long robe made of sackcloth, and has a long white beard that goes down to his waist.
Notes[]
- His name is based on the belief that Elijah the prophet from Scripture is prophesied to return before "the day of the Lord", and also that he was one of the few people spared from death by God when he was taken up to heaven in a whirlwind.
