Empath Smurf's Lonely Hearts Club Band is an in-universe fictional band that appeared in a dream sequence Empath had during his breakup period with Smurfette in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series. The band members were dressed in the style of the Beatles' costumes from the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover and consisted of
- Empath Smurf, in the role of Paul McCartney (blue suit, holding a Cor Anglais)
- Tapper Smurf, in the role of John Lennon (yellow suit, holding a French horn)
- Duncan McSmurf, in the role of George Harrison (orange suit, holding a piccolo)
- Polaris Psyche, in the role of Ringo Starr (pink suit, holding a trumpet)
The songs that were sung by this band in the dream sequence are
- "Empath Smurf's Lonely Hearts Club Band"
- "With A Little Help From My Friends"
- "Smurfette In The Sky With Diamonds"
- "Smurfberry Fields Forever"
- "When I'm 542"
- "Smurfy Lane"
- "Hello Goodbye"
- "All You Need Is Love"
- "Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End"
The dream sequence that the band appears in visually resembles a mix of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album cover and the Yellow Submarine animated film with creatures that are similar in appearance to Blue Meanies.
Notes[]
- Of the characters that are chosen to portray the members of the Beatles, one of them notably has a Mc prefix in his last name.
- Tapper portraying John Lennon is somewhat ironic, given the musician's rather infamous "more famous than Jesus" line that was said to the general public regarding the Beatles' popularity, and the contents of the song "Imagine".
