"I'm truly empathic, all right...I know how my enemies feel so I can enjoy the pain that I inflict upon them."

The Mirror Universe version of Empath is a character who is part of the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series. His position in the Smurf Village of his universe is that of what his Papa Smurf calls an "assistant counselor", which is more of a military commander rank as Papa Smurf would be regarded as a general. He uses his telepathic abilities mostly to torture his victims with sadistic pleasure, whether they be ally or enemy. This gives him the moniker of "the nastiest Smurf" among his fellow Smurfs. Although the Smurfette of his universe is married to Papa Smurf, Empath feels that he genuinely loves Smurfette and wants her all for himself. He also has had various dating relationships with his fellow Smurfs, which the village has no problem with.

As far as his personal history, Empath in the Mirror Universe was never sent to Psychelia and was instead raised in the Smurf Village along with his fellow Smurfs, whom most of them would end up bowing to Empath because of his power and authority. As a result of his upbringing, Empath speaks fluently in Smurf and does not use "this smurf" in his identification of himself. His brother Brainy was most likely the result of an illicit relationship Empath's mother Lillithina had with Papa Smurf's friend Aristotle in that universe while they were still married, where in the normal universe Brainy came out after Lillithina had left her husband due to the belief that Empath had died in Psychelia.

Empath, upon meeting himself from the normal universe, thought that his other self was just a shallow idealistic (and even worse to him, moralistic) version of himself that made him think that all Smurfs in the normal universe were weak and pathetic to just desire living their lives in peace with each other and with other creatures. Yet despite what the Mirror Universe Empath hated about his normal universe self, he also found his counterpart to be sexually attractive, a thought which disgusted the normal universe Empath. He hoped that he would cross over into the normal universe to show their Smurfs, including Smurfette, what "real Smurfs" were all about. Empath of the normal universe refused to let Mirror Universe Empath get anywhere near his universe's Smurfette just to satisfy his desires upon her. And upon actually meeting him when he did cross over, the normal universe Smurfette found Mirror Universe Empath to be very repulsive and even potentially abusive. Because of his behavior, normal universe Empath refers to him as Apathy.

Ideally, he would be voiced by Robin Atkin Downes, the voice of Travis Touchdown from the No More Heroes game series.
