Ernie is a character from the cartoon show. He also exists in The Smurfs: Light and Dark.
Background Information
He was a one-shot character who never spoke in the episode; his lamp was destroyed by the "Walnut Cracker" (an elephant stepped on it, hypnotized by a snake charmer's music). In Numbuh 404's accounts, this resulted in him becoming mute and powerless. He was also revealed to be Tebuli's best friend shortly before his time is up in the episode's overall plot line.
Initially it was believed that Ernie could have died from losing his lamp, but it was never confirmed; this prompted the idea of him living as a non-magical creature who sides with Tebuli as he continues his existence as a genie trapped in his lamp. He feels sorry for his friend, but doesn't enjoy freedom all that much himself since he can't use his powers and tries to convince Tebuli that he's better off as he is. However, this changes when they see a newcomer in the marketplace.
Relationship with Maeve
Maeve catches his eye as a swindling entertainer working with a snake charmer, so he tries to introduce himself only for his silence to destroy the chance. He is confused at first because she seems to ignore him when he uses sign language to communicate, and then he discovers that she is blind. He finds her extremely beautiful, but comes to terms with the realization that they can't be together with both their disabilities. At first he is disappointed, but then he remembers Tebuli and wonders if they would be better together, so he points her out to him.
Appearance
Ernie has orange hair with long sideburns and short bangs, lightly tanned skin, four fingers, a slightly prominant chin, large nose, and standard black eyes. He wears a hearther purple turban with a dark green spire, red cloth atop it, and a large oval ruby over his forehead. His clothes are black with the top piece having a green collar, white cuffed sleeves, and a green tri-strap belt; the lower half is puffy black pants underneath two overlapping black folds with green edges, and his shoes are green as well.

Being mute for the most part, he has no voice actor, but if he did speak, then he would sound like Daran Norris with a Middle Eastern accent.
Trivia
- It is revealed that he is Mystico's past life in "Beyond the Mirror's Reflection" when Mystico sees him in place of his reflection in the Tracing Mirror.
- As he was before a one-shot character, he remains one because this fanon episode is the only one to include him.
