Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is the name of a book that is part of the Smurf House Of Archives in the Smurf Village in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series. It was written as a completely comprehensive catalog of various mythical creatures that exist within the Smurf Forest, describing their preferred habitats, behaviors, and diet among other things. It has been revised several times as new mythical creatures are found in the Smurf Forest, although it has since passed on to antiquity as mythical creatures became endangered and eventually extinct by the end of the European medieval period.
Papa Smurf has used this book when encountering various types of creatures to identify them and help them wherever possible. This is supplemented by a more global edition created by Grandpa Smurf, whose knowledge of mythical creatures in various parts of the world has become essential in the Smurfs' travels through the world even during The Lost Year.
The book is named for a similar one that exists in the Harry Potter universe of stories, which was written by Newt Scamander, which eventually became a real-life fictional book written by J.K. Rowling under the pen name Newt Scamander.
