Feathers is an animal character from the original comics and cartoon show. Her Wiki page is located here. She also exists in The Smurfs: Light and Dark.
Background Information
She is a docile and agile young crane who is occasionally seen assisting the Smurfs when they require flying to faraway destinations. She has been known to protect them if other predators are nearby, such as humans or other animals.
Appearance
Feathers is considered to be a young adult crane standing over 3 feet tall (standard American measurement) with off-white plumage and a 5-foot (56 inches) wingspan. Here beak is close to a golden yellow while her legs are dark brown with three clawed front toes and one back supporting toe. Her eyes have a pinkish-red tint and solid black pupils with prominent upper eyelashes.
Voice Actor(s)
Her original voice actor is unknown, but anyone who can skillfully mimic bird calls would be considered for the role.
Trivia
- While Feathers' gender was never officially specified by mainstream media (aside from a single instance in "Grandpa's Nemesis" from Season 8, which could easily have been Jonathan Winters' misreading or a scripting error for his line), this version of the crane is assumed to be a female based on the inclusion of eyelashes as opposed to other birds shown in the comics and cartoons.
- Technically, a white crane is considered to be a Heron or an Egret. For the sake of canon and to avoid confusion, Feathers is referred to as a crane throughout this series.
