Smurfs Fanon Wiki

Goblins are hideous humanoid beings, often depicted with piglike faces, spiny limbs, sharp teeth and claws, and/or bat-like wings. In most Eastern cultures, they like to terrorize other beings they come across with their magical powers. In Western culture, goblins are mostly called "gremlins" or "ghouls" because their legends derive from European regions and American culture generally has not adopted such legends.

They are thought to live for hundreds of years in mythical folklore and are universally seen as creatures of bad luck.

Mystico was one such goblin that caused trouble for the Smurfs when they had awakened him, using his magic to turn the Smurfs into goblins until Nobody imprisoned him back into the fountain that he came from.

In a flashback story from "Papa's Family Album", the imp known as Hotap used a swarm of goblins to capture the Smurfs so that he could use them for making gold. However, Brainy and the Smurfs found out that the goblins were very afraid of bats, causing them to behave very erratically before fleeing.

In "The Goblin of Boulder Wood," Peewit was thought to be a goblin by citizens of the King, but was proven to be human by Johan when he was sent to investigate.

LD Stories/Expanded AU

Within The Light and Dark Series, which crosses over into the Expanded Animated Universe, there are so far two goblins. Mystico, derived from the original Smurfs Media, makes a returning appearance in an episode of Season 10 called "Mystico Returns."

Later on in "Hethera the Goblin," the Smurfs have made friends with the formerly evil Mystico, and introduce him to a female named Hethera.

After becoming established mates, these goblins are considered "mischievous, but good" and are friends of the Smurfs. They get along well with the Woodsprites, Ripple and Karma, and live in the Enchanted Forest. After the events of the Season 11 episode, "Smurfing a Goblin Hollow," they establish a permanent homestead.
