Gutsy is a character who is part of the Expanded Animated Universe.
History[]
Prior to the beginning of the Expanded AU story events, he was one among a hundred young Smurfs being raised and cared for by the village leader and father figure Papa Smurf. During Hefty's absence in the year prior to the Expanded AU events, Gutsy acted as the assistant leader to Nanny Smurf, who took over as the leader while Papa and Grandpa Smurf were traveling through time.
Personality[]
His personality is identical to that of his live-action film series counterpart: he is very brave and not afraid to stand up for or even to his fellow Smurfs when the situation rises.
Role[]
During Hefty's absence, Gutsy took over the role of the assistant leader, guiding the Smurfs in their tasks and helping to protect them from all sorts of dangers.
