The HoloSmurf is a Smurf character created solely for Vic George's EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf fanfiction story "Smurfed Behind: The Departure".
History[]
As his name suggests, he is a holographic representation of Papa Smurf who possesses all the knowledge and wisdom of Papa Smurf, though not possessing the same personality. He "lives" inside an Imaginarium crystal on a special medallion that Empath carries, who is activated when Empath says, "HoloSmurf, appear before us", and is deactivated when he says, "HoloSmurf, vanish from our sight".
Empath gave this to Papa Smurf on his 550th birthday to be his personal assistant, but apparently hasn't been used since, and after all the Smurfs in the village had vanished into the vortex created by the Key Of Chronos, Empath took the HoloSmurf along to be his assistant in helping him find the way to bring all the other Smurfs back home to their own time period. Apart from this, the HoloSmurf was the only thing Empath had left of Papa Smurf in any form, and would very much be needed to help Empath remain grounded in the ways of the Smurf during his travels.
Personality[]
Because he does not have the same personality as Papa Smurf, HoloSmurf tends to behave like Brainy Smurf, with a tendency to expound on whatever information he feels is necessary for him to recite or to express his own opinions about something. He does not like being treated as an object or a non-entity, which is why he can get very defensive if somebody turns him off right in the middle of speaking his mind. He appreciates being called Culliford, identifying himself as the twin brother that Papa Smurf never had.
Appearance[]
HoloSmurf normally appears in the form of Papa Smurf. However, either through the will of the user or by the will of the HoloSmurf himself, he can appear in any number of forms, usually other Smurfs of either gender, but also including beings of other species that are no bigger than Smurf-size and various types of Smurf-sized objects excluding food. HoloSmurf, having vanity as one of his personality characteristics, does not like having to appear in any other form besides that of Papa Smurf.

HoloSmurf would also be voiced by Ethan Phillips, who played Neelix in Star Trek: Voyager.
