Hunter is a character that is part of the Butterverse.
History[]
Hunter is a male Smurf that is part of the village, and Tracker Smurf’s first cousin. He’s unique for having vitiligo, a trait rarely seen in Smurfs.
Although Hunter’s aim with a bow is particularly bad, he’s been improving at spear fishing.
Personality[]
Hunter is a cheerful and optimistic Smurf in spite of his lack of talent. Much like Harmony Smurf, his name is ironic, since Hunter’s talents at actually catching anything are non-existent. But even when he fails to miss a target for the thousandth time, he’s quickly able to cover up his frustrations with a ‘next time’ attitude.
Appearance[]
Hunter is a male Smurf of average height and weight. His most noticeable feature is his vitiligo, which manifests as small, light blue patches all over his body. He also has an orange tattoo of a paw print on his right shoulder and two cuts in his right eyebrow.
Hunter wears a standard white cap and tights with a green, black tipped feather pinned into the right side. He is often seen with a dark blue bow and arrow sash and a wooden bow.
Hunter has an English accent.
Role In Village[]
Hunter is supposedly the village hunter, a bit of a useless trade in the village since what little meat they do eat is supposedly sourced from humans. It’s possible he does this as a hobby.
Relationships[]
Tracker Smurf[]
Hunter and Tracker have a brotherly like bond although are technically first cousins on their father’s sides. As young Smurflings they’d often sneak away from the village to explore the forest, and managed to not get lost due to Tracker’s extraordinary ability.
Hunter does not share his cousin’s enhanced scent gift, nor his tracking ability, and this does sometimes make him feel a little inferior since he’s also not particularly good at his own niche, but he’s never let it come between their friendship.
Wild Smurf[]
Hunter first met Wild when he missed an arrow shot at a bird and accidentally shot Chitter. This, of course, infuriated Wild into a fit of rage and he told Hunter off, thinking it was on purpose. Hunter’s apologies eventually got through and he helped Wild nurse the wound, bringing back new supplies from the village over the course of a couple weeks. During those weeks, the two became friendlier, and Wild even saved Hunter from getting lost in a storm when he was caught out.
As of current, Wild now considers Hunter his closest non-squirrel friend, has taught Hunter some of the squirrel language, and generally lets him get closer than most of the other Smurfs except perhaps Brainy, who Wild still views as a mentor.
The relationship borders on some kind of life partners, and Hunter’s come to find he enjoys traversing between the comforts of the village and the excitement of the wild, though acknowledges Wild will never truly feel accustomed to Smurf society in the same way Hunter still needs that part of it.
Wild was the one who taught Hunter to spear fish.
Rover and Nova[]
Rover and Nova are Hunter’s first cousins once removed (Rover biologically only) and although they don’t meet too often they do get along. Rover was even inspired by Hunter’s eyebrow slit style, although on the opposite brow.
Hunter is perplexed by his Sweef cousin, having never really been into science or sci fi and not totally understanding the best way to approach the topic with Nova, which can sometimes make him come across as accidentally offensive in his questions, but Hunter doesn’t mean to be, and still treats Nova as part of the family.
