Princeton is an original animal character in The Smurfs: Light and Dark.
Background Information
Princeton is an esteemed service animal who has lived in the stables of King Gerard's castle since birth. As a colt, he was dubbed the "prized steed in training" for Prince Gerard, but after Lady Imperia assumed power and convinced the kingdom that the prince was fatally ill, Princeton was redirected as the official steed of the leading knight.
Relationship with Josten Lancaster
While Princeton and Josten were younger, they were frequently paired together for training by the Man-At-Arms. Josten was training to become a squire and Princeton was in need of disciplinary lessons to become Prince Gerard's future horse, so they developed a mutually cooperative relationship. Their tag-team training went smoothly until Princeton was reassigned to the strict and callous leading knight, Sir Jacob, following the prince "falling gravely ill." He and Squire Josten's relationship grew apart as a result.
Appearance
Princeton is a purebred Belgian Draft horse with a grey coat and one diamond-shaped white marking between his dark brown eyes with matching white eyebrows. His black mane and tail are outgrown to a medium, messy length just like his boots (white in front, black in back). His form is muscular, stout, and hardy, standing at 18 hands high, and his hooves match his coat.

Trivia
- Belgian Draft horses are known for having kind temperaments and easy handling, which Princeton does not maintain as an adult. The callous leading knight raised him to be a war horse, causing his gentle spirit to be broken.
