Psychelia is the village-city in which the Psyches live, which is featured in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf series. It is located on the other side of the mountain range that separates them from the Smurf Village. It is described as having polished stonelike structures, simple in design and arranged in a specific logical pattern around a larger towering structure which is the chamber of the Psyche Master, that filled the area outside the trees, with polished stone walkways threading their way through the structures. Its beauty is said to have surpassed even the disordered quaintness of the mushroom cottages that made up the Smurf Village, and yet everything in it looked mechanical and lifeless. Empath Smurf and Polaris Psyche lived in Psychelia for part of their lives before they left separately.
The Mirror Universe version of Psychelia is described as being similar in appearance to the normal universe version, but the structures are more bright and cheerful instead of ominous and foreboding.
Notes[]
- Psychelia is meant to be an allegory for the residential schools that author Vic George went to through his childhood: Brightside Center in West Springfield, MA and St. Vincent's Home in Fall River, MA.
- The Psychelian national flag is based on that used by the Nazi Party from 1920 to 1945.
