Root beer is a beverage brewed and served by Tapper Smurf in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series. It is mostly a non-alcoholic beverage with a taste similar to that of sarsaparilla ale, so any Smurf of any age is able to enjoy it, including the Smurflings. Wooly, strangely, can get rather wild and rowdy after drinking glasses of root beer, which is his favorite drink. It was served as an alternative to both sarsaparilla ale and "blood wine" at Duncan and Brenda McSmurf's wedding.
