SmurfMint is a character that's a part of the Butterverse series.
History[]
A resident of the Grove, Mint is a clumsy but well-meaning female Smurf with a passion for botany and the medicinal properties of plants. Mint longs to become Willow’s apprentice, even if her efforts to learn the art of healing aren’t the most suave or ... effective at times.
Personality[]
Mint is a passionate but awkward individual whose attempts at succeeding often end in more failure. Never the less, she’s strong willed and willing to push through to see herself achieve her goals, and has a strong compass for morality and loyalty, knowing to never let her friends down and to fight for what she believes in. Despite not being the most skilled uh, anything, she throws herself into the thick of danger purely to save her friends, a trait that is admirable about her for courage alone.
Appearance[]
Mint is a female Smurf of average height and weight. She has long, blue hair with a sweeping fringe and mint green streaks. She wears a sleeveless knee length beige dress and strapless shoes. She has a large mint leaf pinned on the right side of her hat, and a green arm band around her upper right arm.
Role In Grove[]
SmurfMint has long wanted to do something good for her grove, having an interest in botany and the medicinal and magical properties of plants, she took it upon herself to become Willow’s apprentice, but was also the cause of Willow’s illness, which she and her friends sought to cure. Mint’s abilities as a healer have become much better over the years, so much so that she becomes an important member of the reformed scout party, and a potential for the future leader of the grove…
Relationships[]
SmurfWillow[]
Mint looks up to and admires Willow to an even greater degree than most grovers, if that’s possible. Mostly because Mint specifically looks up to Willow’s knowledge of plants and healing, and wants to become a great healer just like her. Mint does eventually become an apprentice, and through showing her worth may even become her successor …
SmurfBlossom[]
Mint and Blossom are good friends, although very different in personality and interest. Blossom shows little interest in plants and finds them to be boring, whilst Mint finds Blossom’s upbeat attitude exhausting at times. Still, the two are loyal friends to the end and will always support each other.
SmurfStorm[]
Storm originally doesn’t take Mint too seriously due to her tendency to mess up simple tasks, but ironically it is this trait that becomes endearing later on, when Storm notices some parallels between Mint and Clumsy’s behaviours. Still, Storm respects Mint’s intelligence, and later down the line, her genuine ability to heal, and this is what leads Storm to ask her to make up part of the new scouting party. Mint is able to help Storm through her guilt at the village, and to just generally learn how to have a little more fun back in the grove, doing silly things like they’re Smurflings again.
It’s through this scout team, and their independent interactions, that Storm and Mint’s relationship deepened and eventually became romantic.
SmurfDragon[]
Mint was very keen to become a mother of her own and is very patient and attentive to her son, who is very shy and prefers to run to her at the first hint of loud noises (twigs snapping). Mint shows a very gentle and nurturing side to parenting and is part of the reason Dragon is able to come out of his shell a little bit as he gets older. He knows he can always rely on her to be level headed and loving.
Crash and Bolt[]
Mint gets on very well with Storm’s older sons, although does not play as big of a step parent role in their lives. She does still tend to get seen by them as the ‘cool’ girlfriend of their mother, and they particularly like it when she adds streaks of their favourite colour to their hair.
Trivia[]
- Mint ended up becoming one of the author’s favourite characters during the first book, and as such gained a significant role in the Butterverse.
- Mint is one of the few grovers that doesn’t have a special connection with a specific dragonfly. She can ride them, but uses spares.
- SmurfGadget, a fellow scout member, was the one who showed Mint how to use certain plants to dye her hair, a trick she passes on to Crash and Bolt.
- There’s still one comic to go in the Mint saga, so some information may change via that releasing .
