SmurfStorm is a Smurf character, and a protagonist within the Butterverse.
History[]
SmurfStorm (Stormy) is one of the grove residents that were found by the village during team Smurf’s quest to save the ‘lost village’. She’s suffered some hardships, such as the loss of her original scouting squad that left an orphaned Smurfling, but has kept it together for her friends. She currently resides in the reformed grove, as the old one was destroyed.
Personality[]
SmurfStorm is a bold, fearless warrior who isn’t afraid to put herself at the head of the squad, or stand up for those weaker than her. She can be crass at times, and somewhat slow to warm up to newcomers, but she’s a loyal friend and solid ally once you earn her trust. Sometimes it can seem as though she’s a little stone hearted, but she actually has a very large heat deep down, and can be a bit of a ‘momma bear’ regarding her own or other animal’s children.
Appearance[]
SmurfStorm is quite tall for a Smurf, with a lot of muscle definition as she’s quite strong, particularly her arms. She has a fair number of scars and some burns on the skin that’s exposed from her time working with Dragonflies and around the forbidden forest. She has short, dark blue hair that sweeps in a fringe over the right side of her face. Stormy wears a flaxen coloured dress, shoes and a hat with earflaps and a four leaved clover for luck. She wears leaf style wristbands and a purple shawl, and can be seen carrying a bow and arrows when in warrior mode.
Role In The Grove[]
SmurfStorm is the scouting leader for the grove, and one of its main defenders. Her job is to secure the perimeters of the grove from threats and look out for external trouble. These missions can take weeks, and general scouting will be done throughout most of the year.

SmurfWillow[]
Like all of the Grover’s, SmurfStorm looks up to Willow as a matriarch. She’s quite protective of her leader and trusts her word of judgement before all else. Willow is the first one Stormy reports back to at any sign of trouble.
SmurfBlossom[]
SmurfBlossom is Stormy’s best friend, and although they can fight occasionally it never lasts long. SmurfBlossom’s upbeat personality often helps balance out Stormy’s temper, and SmurfStorm will generally do her best to keep Blossom out of harm’s way.
Clumsy Smurf[]
Clumsy is SmurfStorm’s ex-partner, and the father of her children when the storks delivered twin Smurflings to them. SmurfStorm was initially impressed with Clumsy’s aerial efforts during their scouting mission to find Gargamel, and after the village and grove combined, she offered to help him train his own dragonfly. The two bonded, and Stormy found him endearing in a sort of unlucky way, eventually leading to her asking him out.
Although it started out well, Stormy eventually began to feel the weight of responsibilities on her shoulder’s as the Scout leader, and was finding it increasingly difficult to maintain her work-life balance, fearing that choosing one over the other would lead to some internal resentment. Ultimately, she eventually chose the grove, as she felt the guilt from not being there for her scout party some years before, and knew she could never be truly content in the village alone. She and Clumsy parted amicably, although upset, and a part of her still loves him deep down although she’s let him go.
Crash & Bolt[]
SmurfStorm is a fierce mother and would do almost anything to ensure the safety of her twins. Although she doesn’t see them as often as she’d like, she will never fail to come around on an important occasion (such as birthdays, Christmas, etc) and is constantly writing letters to the village to keep in contact. When she used to reside in the village with them, SmurfStorm was sometimes the only one capable of reigning in their energetic antics, and her authority has never been questioned by them. She’s proud of their bravery and passion for adventure, and will let them ride Spitfire with her supervision.
SmurfMint[]
Storm and Mint have been friends for a while, especially since their grand adventure to heal Willow after she fell ill. Although they drifted a little as Mint worked on becoming Willow's apprentice, eventually being told she would be the next Grove leader, they still considered each other with respect. Following Storm's separation from Clumsy and her return to the grove as scout leader, Storm appoints Mint as one of her new scout party members, being the healer, and this rekindled the old friendship between them, as well as lead to an even deeper relationship as they spent a lot of time together during missions. It was Mint who admitted that she'd like a child of her own, only being able to spend a little time with Storm's older sons, and who Storm eventually agreed to co-parent with as long as they stayed in the grove so she wouldn't feel as though she had to give up on her second family. Storm does sometimes experience guilt over this, but truth be told both sides of the family are very happy and the twins also love SmurfMint.
SmurfDragon[]
SmurfDragon is SmurfStorm's third son, and the only one she is currently raising. Storm was originally very unsure about the idea of another child after having left her other two and fears she can't be a good mother as she doesn't want to 'replace' her sons, but when it came down to it, Storm was very happy to receive another stork delivery. Unlike her older sons, Dragon is a very shy and sweet boy who rarely causes trouble and prefers to hide behind his mother's legs. This makes him slightly harder for Storm to connect with as she's used to roughhousing with her older boys, but she's working through it and loves Dragon the way he is.
SmurfGadget[]
SmurfGadget is a fellow grover, a friend of Stormy’s, and a member of her new scout party. Stormy originally recruited her for her mechanical ability, which she was impressed with, despite their tendency to be wild and weird. Regardless, she’s grateful merely for Gad’s support and efforts towards the scouting party, and finds the mechanic to be a lot of fun to be around.

Smurfette[]
Whilst initially distrustful of Smurfette, Stormy is far more relaxed around Smurfette now, and would consider her a good friend.
Hefty Smurf[]
SmurfStorm and Hefty have a friendly rivalry between each other, as the two are often matched for strength. They’re ultimately good friends, although will often butt heads.
Reckless Smurf[]
Reckless was somewhat of a rebound relationship for SmurfStorm following her separation from Clumsy. Ultimately, it didn’t work out due to the difference in personality, but the two remain good friends, and Reckless is part of her new scouting team, along with his dragonfly Frostbite, who’s the mate of Spitfire.
Handy Smurf[]
Handy is a friend of SmurfStorm’s, and she trusts him with being the guardian to her twin sons. The two are both quite good at taking initiative to create inventions, although Stormy’s tend to be more ‘organic’ than Handy’s machines. The two can often go from friendly competition to weekend drinking, which occasionally includes sharing stories about Clumsy Smurf’s antics.
Mari Smurf[]
SmurfStorm was originally unsure of what to make of her son’s half-sister, knowing she truly had nothing to do with the child. Over time, she softened up to Mari, and although she doesn’t consider herself a mother to her, she treats the Smurfling on the same level of care and attention as her own sons.
Trivia[]
- SmurfStorm has often said she’s opposed to the idea of marriage … this might not be entirely true but she’s sticking with it for now
- SmurfStorm possibly suffers some sort of PTSD and/or survivors guilt from the night her original scout party were captured. This was a contributing factor that lead her to go back into the role to try and prevent it happening again. She’s too stubborn to admit this, and doesn’t get on too well with Therapist Smurf despite his insistence that he’s trying to help.
- SmurfStorm is the artist’s favourite ‘canon’ female character
