"Oh, I'm so glad the girls are enjoying Valentine's Day!

Smurfette is a Smurf character who is a part of The Smurfs: Two Sides. She is one of the main characters of the series.

Information[]

An artificial Smurf created by the evil wizard Gargamel to infiltrate the village, her gentle and kind-hearted personality kept her from betraying the other Smurfs. But don’t mistake that gentleness for weakness- Smurfette has a strong conviction to fight for justice and to protect the innocent. And, of course, anyone who can run and fight in high heels should be feared.

Having been created by a human to be “the girl Smurf,” Smurfette internalized a lot of medieval human ideas of gender and sexuality, and subconsciously expects other people to act according to those ideas. This contrasts strongly with the Grove Smurfs, who didn’t even have a concept of “boys” until a few months before the series.

Smurfette usually hates getting dirty, but she will put up with it in order to garden, as her love of flowers is greater than her hatred for messes. She can often be found tending to the large garden that surrounds her house. She talks to flowers like they’re people.

Relationships[]

Smurf Village[]

  • Baby Smurf: Smurfette is one of the main caretakers of Baby Smurf. She and Brainy often argue on how to best take care of Baby.
  • Brainy Smurf: Smurfette and Brainy Smurf have a good platonic relationship. They often have contradicting opinions on how to do things, and will argue on and on about it, but when it comes down to it, they enjoy each other's company. Even though he isn't attracted to Smurfette, Brainy has gone on dates with her solely to make the other Smurfs jealous.
  • Clumsy Smurf: Smurfette and Clumsy Smurf are good friends. Smurfette often shows a protective nature towards Clumsy, getting upset when other Smurfs treat him badly. Clumsy has a crush on Smurfette, and thinks she's the most beautiful Smurf in the whole world.
  • Hefty Smurf: Hefty Smurf has a gigantic and obvious crush on Smurfette. The two of them are good friends, with Smurfette often acting as a voice of reason for Hefty. She enjoys it when he flirts with her, but she's not sure if she returns the feelings.
  • Papa Smurf: Papa Smurf was the one responsible for turning Smurfette into a real Smurf. Due to Smurfette having more common sense than most of the village Smurfs (which isn't saying much), Papa usually trusts Smurfette to be the temporary village leader whenever he's away.
  • Sassette: Due to being made from the same clay and the same spell, Sassette is Smurfette's little sister. Despite their contrasting interests, the two get along well.
  • Vanity Smurf: Vanity Smurf is Smurfette's best friend. The two of them often spend time together, and they share interests in flowers and fashion. Vanity has never been romantically interested in Smurfette, although he considers her the third-most beautiful Smurf in the village (after himself and Slammy, of course).

Smurfy Grove[]

  • Smurfblossom: Smurfblossom and Smurfette are good friends. They spend a lot of time together. However, Smurfette can occasionally get overwhelmed by Blossom's exuberant personality.
  • Smurflily: Smurfette and Smurflily are very close. Smurflily was the first Smurfy Grove Smurf that Smurfette met, and when the two started spending time with each other, they realized they really like being around each other. Smurflily taught Smurfette archery. Smurflily has a crush on Smurfette, and secretly thinks that Smurfette is the most beautiful Smurf in the world.
  • Smurfstorm: Smurfette is intimidated by Smurfstorm, but thinks she's very pretty and has a small crush on her. Smurfette is unaware of this crush, because she's certain that she can only be attracted to men.
  • Smurfwillow: Smurfwillow acts as a mother figure for Smurfette, who desperately needs it. Smurfwillow helps Smurfette work through her problems, and listens to her worries.
  • Smurfwine: Smurfwine has a crush on Smurfette, and can barely even speak around her most of the time. Smurfwine writes Smurfette love poems, and uses her moments of confidence to recite them- to which Smurfette responds with a grimace and a "It's... uh... great."
  • The Smurf Girls (in general): Smurfette is glad to have more girls her age around.

Other[]

  • Gargamel: Gargamel created Smurfette, and often tries to use this fact against her. Smurfette despises Gargamel with all of her heart, and gets distressed even talking about him, sometimes to the point of crying.

Abilities[]

  • Musical skill, which all Smurfs except Harmony have. Smurfette can play the harp, and has a lovely singing voice.
  • Knowledge of plants, with the exception of those in the Forbidden Forest.
  • Good Archer, taught by Smurflily.
  • Great Balance, able to run around in high heels and able to balance on pretty much anything.
  • Cleverness

Weaknesses[]

  • Not very physically strong

Appearance[]

Smurfette has blonde, full hair that reaches down almost to her knees, and bangs that sweep forwards. She normally wears a white sleeveless dress with a scalloped hem. A pattern of ovals is embroidered around the hem. She normally wears white high-heels and a white hat. Smurfette's alternate outfits often feature the colors pink and white.
