The Smurflings were four young Smurfs who appeared in the Smurf Village a year prior to Empath's final return from Psychelia in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series
The boy Smurflings, Nat, Snappy, and Slouchy, came from Smurfling Island where Smurflings stay perpetually young, while Sassette was a real Smurf who was imprisoned in a crystal and released by the boy Smurflings, who upon her release was made to believe that she also was a magically-created female Smurf like Smurfette.
Like their cartoon show universe counterparts, the Smurflings also live together in a tree stump playhouse and behave in the same manner, though Sassette has given up the twin-braided look and the Smurf hat for a pink bow and a single ponytail. The four of them easily take to Empath since he is the only young adult Smurf among his peers who has incredible powers, some of which are similar to the Smurflings' leader on Smurfling Island, Smurfling Pan.
According to one of the stories in the series, the first song that the Smurflings had performed at a Smurfstock Festival was "Smurfbop" (an analog to the Hanson hit song of 1997 "MMMBop"), which became a very popular hit and the beginning of a shift in musical styles among most of the young adult Smurfs. The Smurflings also lent their talent to Smurfette in the creation of her Ray Of Sunshine album.
As the Smurflings grew into adulthood, they eventually separated and took on roles benefiting the community. Snappy and Sassette both fell in love and married each other, producing two children named Nelson and Lisa. Nat fell in love with and married Tapper's daughter Fiona, while Slouchy did the same with Tapper's other daughter Meaghan.
Possible Voice Actors[]
The Smurflings would probably be voiced by Tara Strong, Nancy Cartwright, Tress MacNeille, and Pamela Hayden.
Trivia[]
- Their standard catch phrase from the cartoon show, "Smurfaroo," is replaced with "Smurfabunga" in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series.
