The Smurfs are the main group of characters that are central to the Smurfs Prime universe. They live in a village hidden within a forest, the location of which is in a place known only as the Cursed Land. There are a hundred of them and they are all male, with no females present. They all speak in the Smurf language except for Papa Smurf, who is fluent in both Smurf and human languages. Perhaps the most notable difference of the Smurfs in Smurfs Prime is that all of them have five-fingered hands, whereas the Smurfs in other universes have four-fingered hands.
Their first meeting with humans was when they were searching for the magic flute that fell into the hands of Peewit the court jester and then into that of Matthew Oilycreep, a traveling musician and thief. With the help of Sir Johan and Peewit, the Smurfs were able to retrieve the flute by creating a second flute for the two humans to use, though they ended up giving the flutes back to the Smurfs so that they will be safe. From that point on they would continue to have further adventures with Sir Johan and Peewit.
Traveler and Narrator, both from the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series, have encountered the Smurfs in Smurfs Prime in certain occasions.
