The Sorcerer's Guild Academy is a school for young sorcerers to learn how to control their magic powers and abilities in the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series. It is believed that Gargamel and Scruple were once students of this school. Jeanty was also a student of this school until his one-time love interest Brenda stopped him from using his powers to cause greater trouble, and was therefore expelled.
Entrance into the program is admitted by the Dean Of Wizards (who at the present time of the stories is Albus Dumberton) if the person who wishes to become part of the guild is shown to have some level of inborn ability for wielding magical energies, which is usually present when the person is around six to nine years of age. Schooling usually lasts until the student turns twenty, when he is considered proficient enough to be recognized as an official sorcerer. Students may either choose to apprentice themselves to master sorcerers or be given to sorcerers with at least a graduate's degree as their apprentice (as in the case of Scruple with Gargamel) if the student proves to be too incorrigible.
Subjects that involve the manipulation of dark magic, such as necromancy, are forbidden to be taught at the Academy to any student.
