A Watersprite is a magical creature that comes from the general Sprite family. Like Woodsprites, Airsprites, or Firesprites, these creatures are tied to their elemental foundations and can harness the power of water.

Two Watersprites have been featured in separate episodes of the Smurfs cartoon show, starting in "Bubble, Bubble, Smurfs in Trouble," where an unnamed Watersprite is introduced with Scaredy Smurf and allows him to use his magic impenetrable bubble for safety until dusk.
Later on in the Season 9 episode, "A Fish Called Snappy," a female Watersprite named Sirene is startled by the Smurfs when they go to the beach, so she turns a fish-taunting Snappy Smurfling into a fish. When he later apologizes and they save the other Smurfs from a wicked emperor, she changes him back to normal.
Appearance[]
These creatures are generally found living near or in a body of water (pond, ocean, river, etc.) and have light green, smooth skin. Depending on where they live, they may be more suitable for both land and water, or have features like Mermen, such as fish-like ears or webbed fingers.
Their body type ranges from "leanly muscular" to "large" or "heavily muscular" considering they are the embodiment of water, which can be light or extremely heavy depending on the amount in question. They also tend to have up-turned pointed ears with bulbous, round earlobes; for more Mermen-resembling types, however, their ears often appear like fins.
Empath: The Luckiest Smurf stories[]
In the EMPATH: The Luckiest Smurf story series, the watersprite whom Scaredy had met was named Dewey, and he also has two brothers named Huey and Louie who also perform the same job of spreading dew on plants.
