Smurfs Fanon Wiki

Wild is a Smurf character that is part of the Butterverse.

History[]

Wild was due to be delivered to the village as a regular stork delivery, however this fell through when his delivery night was stormy, and the end of his blanket snagged at the top of a tall tree, leaving the baby Smurf inside.

Whilst Papa never found the baby, a mother squirrel did the next morning, and she – along with subsequent generations of squirrels thereafter, raised and were raised by the Wild Smurf on the far side of the forest.

Eventually, Wild’s explorations lead him back around the village, where he witnesses a group of similar looking creatures to him being trapped by a human. Wild rescues them, but runs away from their attempts to socialise. He’s eventually tricked and trapped by the village, which he initially attempts to escape from, before becoming accustomed to his new friends. Wild tries some of village life, but hates it, and refuses to wear standard clothes or participate in most of the regular activities. He learns primitive speech however, and choses to continue living in the forest with the squirrels, speaking in both squirrel and Smurf when he chooses.

Personality[]

Wild is a brave and fierce Smurf with a sense of humour to him too, finding even Jokey’s exploding boxes funny at times. Wild is loyal to both his squirrel family and his Smurf friends, and could never chose one over the other, although he does maintain that he prefers to live in the forest.

Wild’s speech pattern is reminiscent of cavemen, so his grammar isn’t perfect although he’s understandable. When he does speak, Wild can be shown to be stubborn, even a little rude at times, although he is still well liked and generally friendly.

Appearance[]

Years of forest life have made an impression on Wild’s physical appearance – he’s incredibly agile and strong, and this is clear from a first glance at his climber’s muscles, without much in the way to obscure them. Wild wears only a leaf hat in the shape of a regular Smurf cap, and a cloth loincloth/shorts fabricated by Tailor as a more modest item of clothing to his original leaves.

Wild’s body is covered in tiny scars and scrapes from his escapades over the years, though nothing too serious has happened to him yet.

Role In Village[]

Wild doesn’t live in the village, and continues living in the forest. He often will visit the village for special occasions or just to socialise with his friends, but most of Wild’s days are spent taking care of the squirrels or self-sustaining his own way of life via foraging and fishing.

Relationships[]

Papa Smurf[]

Papa has felt guilty for many years over the disappearance of Wild, although he knows there was nothing he could really do to stop it. When he was finally reunited with Wild, he was overcome with emotion that made him almost irrational, wanting to immediately take Wild in as though he was a child and not a fully grown and wild Smurf.

Once Papa accepted that the past couldn’t be changed and Wild was happy with his situation, he could let go of the guilt and treat Wild as an equal too. Wild does respect Papa, but is happy not to live under his rules.

Chitter[]

Chitter is the descendant of the original squirrel that raised Wild, and his current companion, although there have been many of the years and many will come still. The two are often found together, and Wild has been helping raise Chitter’s kits.

Chitter is Wild’s top priority, and any harm that comes to Chitter means big trouble for the offender.

Hunter Smurf[]

Hunter’s first solo interaction with Wild was when he accidentally shot Chitter whilst aiming for a bird. This, of course, enraged Wild who was initially furious with Hunter, believing it to be on purpose. After Hunter stammers an apology and explanation, he tries to make it up to Wild by helping gather supplies and medicines from the village and carry them back to the forest. Wild’s anger eventually fades into respect and gratitude and eventually friendship. As of current, Wild would consider Hunter his best friend and some kind of life partner, though Hunter tends to still need the village far more than Wild and isn’t content with living rough.

Wild has taught Hunter how to spear fish (though Wild is so good at it now he can often do it without any equipment) since Hunter’s archery skill is so poor.

Brainy Smurf[]

Brainy appointed himself Wild’s speech mentor when Wild first came to the village and despite the status quo with Brainy’s friendships, Wild actually considers Brainy a good and close friend, and surprisingly respects him as a mentor although his speech isn’t perfect.

Brainy can sometimes take this a bit too far himself, often head-butting in on issues involving Wild or getting annoyed when Wild shows more independence than Brainy would like but they remain friends.

Smurfette[]

Wild like the majority of the village had a temporary infatuation with Smurfette for some time after meeting her, although it’s since died down.

Trivia[]

  • Wild uses a mix of NTOB’s cavemanesque speech and the 80’s cartoons squirrel speech, and can switch between both
  • It’s not been decided who his squirrel companion is by the time the next gen roll around, since Chitter will most likely have passed, though it’ll be one of his descendants.
  • Wild is more likely to eat meat than most of the other Smurfs
