While not appearing in the original comic series, one Woodsprite named Ripple appeared in an episode of Season 7 and was known for pulling chaotic pranks on the Smurfs, but wound up actually just wanting friends, so he became a friend of the Smurfs after helping them rescue the Smurflings from Gargamel.

Appearance[]

These creatures are generally found living near or in a forested region (woodlands, grasslands, orchards, etc.) and have earth-toned skin believed to be ranging from light Caucasian to dark African. Depending on where they live, they may be more suitable for land, water, air, or all three combined. Their clothing consists of a light-weight, sturdy design for flexible, constant movement, and their powers derive from their hats.

Unlike other Sprites, they also have a set of thin insectoid antennae. Their body type ranges between "leanly muscular" to "big-boned" considering they are the embodiment of the natural world, which can be heavy or light depending on the immediate environment. They also tend to have long, slender pointed ears, which seem to resemble a donkey's.

LD Stories

Within the The Smurfs: Light and Dark, Ripple makes a reappearance in the Season 1 episode, "Tripped Up." In it, he meets and soon falls in love with Karma, a female Woodsprite who possesses a pendant with a word that can only be translated by her true love.

They both have magical abilities such as Teleportation, Telekinesis, and transformation, which are derived from their hats. They live in Woodsprite Hollow, as revealed later in "Beyond the Mirror's Reflection."

In the Season 2 episode "Sylke Hood," Ripple's childhood friend, Drefuse Sylke is introduced, which brings new adventures and dangers. More to come later!
